Wareham Community Pathway Committee

Mission Statement
The mission of the Wareham Community Pathway Committee is to provide professional advice and technical expertise to the board of Selectmen with the purpose of providing a safe, clean, aesthetic, and enjoyable place for people of all ages to walk, jog or ride a bicycle year round, in order to reconnect with nature and our neighbors, promote health and preserve the natural environment.

Goals of the Wareham Community Pathway:
  • Become a bicycle friendly community.
  • Improve Wareham’s environment and quality of life by reducing traffic congestion, there-by promoting cleaner air and better health.
  • Provide an accessible, safe, and convenient multi-use path by creating a public greenway for relaxation and recreation such as walking, running, skating, and biking.
  • Facilitate non-motorized transportation to schools, work, and shopping.
  • Become an integral link of the South Coast Bikeway which eventually will stretch westward to Fall River and beyond, and eastward to the Cape.
